Peniel Fellowship

What We Do

The Peniel fellowship started as a Home Group in 1978, combined from a few local Jewish believers, several new immigrants from different countries, languages and backgrounds, and Christians from different back grounds who had come to the land with a vision to help build the country and to be a living testimony through their daily lives.

The believers of Tiberias began to pray together and soon agreed to hold an open assembly each Friday evening (Erev Shabbat). Five men were elected as Elders following a time of prayer and fasting, and we took the name "Peniel" (Hebrew for 'face of God', Gen. 32) in which Jacob became Israel through a wrestling match with a 'man', who when Jacob looked closer, he recognized had the face of God. So it proved, we were to experience a human struggle which could have divine consequences.

One of our main goals is to teach and equip the believers to stand on a solid foundation so that they can grow and mature in The Lord and teach others, that we may all hold fast to our faith, and persevere to the end.

May we be found faithful in His eyes when He returns!
